MyAircon FAQ English

1.       Does the MyAircon SEM800 work with my Air Conditioner?  What if it doesn’t work?

The MyAircon is compatible with more than 99.99% of Air Conditioner around the world as long as it’s a split unit with infrared remote control.

If you have problems pairing the device, here are some things to check:

a)       Pairing is affected if the remote control’s battery is low - change batteries if that’s the case

b)      Make sure the remote is close to, or pointing at, the MyAircon during the pairing process

c)       Make sure the Wi-Fi network is OK

If your Air Conditioner is incompatible, please provide us with the Air Conditioner model and its remote model reference number

(usually on the back of the remote control). We’ll upload the IRcodes into our cloud to make it compatible (usually within 48 hours).

2.       Can I manage several air conditioners with one app?

Yes. Each account is able to manage many devices, just add the new devices in the app.

3.       Can I install several MyAircon at my house?

Yes. The number of MyAircoon you can use depends on the capacity of your router. Please note that the MyAircon may not be able to

identify separate units if you have the exact same models in one room or open space.

4.       Which is the best position to install the MyAircon:

a)       Within 5 meters of the Air Conditioner unit to be controlled.

b)      There should be no barriers between the SEM810 and your Air Conditioner unit.

5.       Can I install the MyAircon even if the socket is on the same wall as the Air Conditioner unit and not in direct line-of-sight of the Air Conditioner

 unit IR sensor?

Yes, Infra-red light reflects off light surfaces so you’ll find the signal bounces off the opposite wall or ceiling and will hit the IR sensor.

        6.       How does the MyAircon work?

The user needs to connect the MyAircon to his Wi-Fi network during setup (The default password is 123456), and then pair the MyAircon with

the remote. The infrared remote codes are stored in the cloud, so it’s quite simple to pair. Then you can start to use the app to control or schedule

your Air Conditioner. The MyAircon should be connected to the Wi-Fi network at all times, so it can be reached by the app through the cloud

 server.

7.       How can I reset the MyAircon?

Press and hold the reset button until the LED flashes quickly for 5 seconds. Then you can start the setup again.

8.       Failure to setup MyAircon

a)       Make sure the Wi-Fi router connected to the smartphone is 2.4GHz frequency. The device doesn’t support 5GHz Wi-Fi.

b)      Check the Wi-Fi password is correct

c)       Check the Wi-Fi signal strength

d)      Reset the AirControl, and then try again

9.       The MyAircon loses connection during usage

a)       Check whether the Wi-Fi signal is still strong at that position and able to connect to the internet

b)      If the router has been reset or Wi-Fi password has been changed, you need to reset the MyAircon and then setup again

10.   How do I share the device with my family?

Let your family install the app on their smartphone. Click ‘+’ to add the device and input the SN number (it can be found on the side of the device)

and password of the device.

11.   Does my existing remote control still work after using the MyAircon?

Yes!

12.   If I want to use the MyAircon with another Air Conditioner, should I reset the device?

No, you don’t have to reset the device. You could pair the remote of the Air Conditioner again in the app. Then, the MyAircon will start to

control this Air Conditioner instead of the previous one.

13.   Simple Schedule timer

If the timer is to turn the Air Conditioner on, the Air Conditioner will turn on in the last mode at set time.

14.   Auto Home Feature

When you are about 5 Km away from your home (the app can determine if you are approaching or leaving), the AC will start to heat to 24,

if the room temperature is lower than 19; and start to cool to 24, if the room temperature is higher than 26.

To enable this feature, the app and the MyAircon should both be in the same Wi-Fi network when you first set it up. You should also enable

 location tracking on your smartphone.

15.   Auto Sleep Feature

The MyAircon will learn the level of illumination in the room where the user sleeps. From 22:00 to 6:00, if it detects that the illumination in the

room is lower than the level it has learnt, it will

a)       Adjust to low wind speed

b)      If the room temperature is higher than 28 in heat mode, reduce 2 from the set temperature.

c)       If the room temperature is lower than 20 in cool mode, add 2 from the set temperature.

16.   Constant Temperature Feature

This feature allows users to get their preferred room temperature instead of set point temperature in the Air Conditioner, the Air Conditioner

will adjust its operation to reach and maintain that room temperature.

If user sets the room temperature at 23 to 26 during the period 9:00 to 18:00, AC will start cooling automatically when the room temperature

is higher than 26, or start heating automatically when the room temperature is lower than 23, to make sure the room is in set temperature

range. Out of the time range 9:00 to 18:00, the AC will automatically go into standby mode.

17.   Temperature Curve.

This features allows the user to set an hourly set point temperature, over a time period of at least 5 hours. The Air Conditioner will then set the

temperature according to this curve in the chosen mode (heat/cool).

18.   Child Lock.

This feature allows the user to block all commands from the AC remote. You can choose to enable just power on/off.
